Seachem Matrix 500ml

Seachem Matrix is a high porosity biomedia that provides efficient biofiltration for the removal of nitrogenous waste.
It is a porous inorganic solid about 10mm in diameter.
Each litre of Seachem Matrix provides as much surface (>700 m2) as 170 litres of plastic balls!
Plastic bio-materials provide only external surface area, whereas Seachem Matrix provides both external and internal macroporous surface area.
These macropores are ideally sized for the support of nitrifying and denitrifying bacteria.
This allows Seachem Matrix, unlike other forms of biomedia, to remove nitrate along with ammonia and nitrite, simultaneously and in the same filter.

Seachem Matrix is completely inert and will not breakdown.
It need not be replaced.
Since the majority of the bacteria are internal, Seachem Matrix may be rinsed when needed without damaging the filter.

Seachem Matrix is compatible with all types of wet or wet-dry filters.

How to use:

• Rinse Seachem Matrix in tank water before adding to your filter.
• Place Seachem Matrix in your filter in a location where it will receive good water flow.
• For best results, use 250mL of Seachem Matrix for each 200L (50 US gallons) of water in your aquarium.
• You can rinse Seachem Matrix as needed to remove debris and accumulated waste.
